The House

Cornelia is a large house in a neighborhood close to the center of Turin. We thought we would dedicate these 7 rooms to 9 female students who would like to stay there for their studies, between 3 and 12 months.

We named it Cornelia to remember Cornelia Rudio, a 19th century botanist who discovered and named in the Piedmont Alps the Gymnadenia corneliana, the beautiful flower that is the symbol of the house. Cornelia was a rarity for her time, a woman botanist who left her mark. This is what we wish for all the girls who will stay here: to follow their path and shine!

For them, we chose to name the rooms after seven women from Piedmont, either by birth or adoption, who, like Cornelia, expressed their talents to the full:

  • Sibilla Aleramo, poetess
  • Milena Canonero, costume designer
  • Natalia Ginzburg, writer
  • Amalia Guglielminetti, poetess
  • Rita Levi Montalcini, scientist
  • Teresa Noce, politician
  • Carol Rama, artist

Here at Cornelia’s there are five single rooms and two double rooms. A small laundry room on the second floor with a washer and dryer, as well as two clotheslines and an iron, is available to tenants.

There is also a shared kitchen and dining room for all the girls, plus a study room and living room for relaxing and entertaining with guitars, board games, and comfortable sofas.

The rent includes all expenses: electricity, heating, air conditioning, internet with fast fibre, water, waste tax.

Also included in the price is cleaning of common areas once a week and private rooms once every two weeks.

A student house through and through, but with some life-enhancing benefits.

Cornelia’s style is distinctive and unmistakable. All to be discovered!

Study Room

A quiet room that makes for good concentration for studying. It has Cornelia Housing colours, long desks on which to study, even together, a large bookcase and comfortable chairs.

There is a small toilet just outside.

The kitchen and dining room

A complete kitchen with sink, dishwasher, large electric oven, microwave oven, induction hobs for cooking, a large fridge with a large freezer, plenty of space for dishes and food.

A dining room with three tables for sharing a meal between girls. In addition an antique cupboard for storing additional food and/or crockery.

A great space to share and enjoy.
