Cornelia is a large house in a neighborhood close to the center of Turin. We thought we would dedicate these 7 rooms to 9 female students who would like to stay there for their studies, between 3 and 12 months. <\/p>

We named it Cornelia to remember Cornelia Rudio<\/strong>, a 19th century botanist<\/em> who discovered and named in the Piedmont Alps the Gymnadenia corneliana<\/strong>, the beautiful flower that is the symbol of the house. Cornelia was a rarity for her time, a woman botanist who left her mark. This is what we wish for all the girls who will stay here: to follow their path and shine! <\/p>

For them, we chose to name the rooms after seven women from Piedmont, either by birth or adoption, who, like Cornelia, expressed their talents to the full:<\/p>

  • Sibilla Aleramo<\/strong>, poetess<\/em><\/li>
  • Milena Canonero<\/strong>, costume designer<\/em><\/li>
  • Natalia Ginzburg<\/strong>, writer<\/em><\/li>
  • Amalia Guglielminetti<\/strong>, poetess<\/em><\/li>
  • Rita Levi Montalcini<\/strong>, scientist<\/em><\/li>
  • Teresa Noce<\/strong>, politician<\/em><\/li>
  • Carol Rama<\/strong>, artist<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Here at Cornelia’s there are five single rooms and two double rooms<\/strong>. A small laundry room<\/strong> on the second floor with a washer and dryer, as well as two clotheslines and an iron, is available to tenants. <\/p>

    There is also a shared kitchen and dining room<\/strong> for all the girls, plus a study room and living room<\/strong> for relaxing and entertaining with guitars, board games, and comfortable sofas.<\/p>

    The rent includes all expenses<\/strong>: electricity, heating, air conditioning, internet with fast fibre, water, waste tax.<\/p>

    Also included in the price is cleaning of common areas<\/strong> once a week and private rooms<\/strong> once every two weeks.<\/p>

    A student house through and through, but with some life-enhancing benefits.<\/p>

    A quiet room that makes for good concentration for studying. It has Cornelia Housing colours, long desks on which to study, even together, a large bookcase and comfortable chairs. <\/p>

    There is a small toilet just outside.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    The kitchen and dining room<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    A complete kitchen with sink, dishwasher, large electric oven, microwave oven, induction hobs for cooking, a large fridge with a large freezer, plenty of space for dishes and food.<\/p>

    A dining room with three tables for sharing a meal between girls. In addition an antique cupboard for storing additional food and\/or crockery. <\/p>
